Jan 13, 2006 Happy new year! Phew! Things are already busy and the year's hardly begun! The opening for the show at Andenken in Denver was fun. Despite the snow, there was a good turnout, and it still didn't keep the jerks from getting rowdy with my hand painted punching bop-bag sculptures in the middle of the gallery. Denver, you're nuts! Also, I have a new cheap'n'dirrrrty newsprint now available in the store, as well as the book produced for Beautiful/Decay's ARCHIVE show at the Scion Gallery last August. Plus more new stuff on the way! Dec 11, 2006 The word on the street is that my Critter Splitter toys are in the 2006 Design Triennial at the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum in New York. WHOA! I'll have to see for myself. Show runs until July 29. Speaking of shows, I'm currently hard at work for the upcoming show at Andenken Gallery in Denver. It's going to be fun! Show opens Jan 5th and runs until Feb 17th. Dec 6, 2006 For the holiday gift givers of the world, I'll have you know that I'm making it a point to take DAILY trips to the post office, so you get your stuff PRONTO. I've even been known to send something via priority, if you order enough junk! In other news, I currently have work in both the Fantagraphics Beasts! art show at the Belle & Wissell Gallery in Seattle, and at the Circus Punks show at Mixi-Bang in L.A. I believe my Beasts! piece is only available by going to the gallery, though my Circus Punk is available here. Nov 12, 2006 Several new things for your to-do list: Nov 9, 2006 Happy International Critter Splitter Day today! To celebrate, if there is a certain figure you'd like specifically, send us an email and we'll see what we can do. TODAY ONLY though, suckers. And don't ask for Dr. LeDoux. He likes to make himself pretty scarce. On a somewhat related note, I'm letting LeDouxville shipping department go away on a short vacation between Nov. 15 - 25th, so any orders placed in that time will take a bit longer than normal to be delivered. But it'll still be quick. Nov 6, 2006 Dr. LeDoux's Critter Splitter figures come out this Thursday, November 9th from Kidrobot. You're going to want a huge pile of them. Lucky for you, they are right down there in the LeDouxville store. There's also a new print up in the store called 'Black Magic.' It'll melt your eyes. There's plenty of other rad stuff on the horizon too. Some fun projects, several fun art shows, and other good stuff. Sign up for my mailing list and I'll spill my guts a bit more. Oct 1, 2006 Just wrapped up a month-long CD packaging class and accompanying lecture at the Art Institute of Boston. As I was breathing a sigh of relief at the notion of having a bit of free time, I realized my upcoming talk at the AIGA Shaker Village Design Revival conference in Kentucky is only 12 days away. There are a couple spaces still open, so sign up! I'm told it'll be fun (with rumors of river boats and whiskey sampling)! In other news, I'm working on some more stuff for the Little Ones. I'm excited. They really do get better with every listen. Sept 7, 2006 I've been growing a mustache for MONTHS in preparation for this one: Tiny Showcase has recently released my SECRET STASH set of 4 letterpress prints. They turned out quite nice, come packaged in a tasteful screen printed jacket, and are in an edition of 100. They're already halfway to a sellout, so get one while it lasts! Aug 29, 2006 The 'ARCHIVE' show at the Scion Gallery in L.A. was a lot of fun. It's still up for a few more days if you haven't checked it out yet. And if you're planning on going to Bumbershoot in Seattle this weekend, be sure to stop past the Patent Pending booth to say hello! Aug 12, 2006 The new Hellogoodbye album just came out. Pick up a copy for yourself and finish the coloring job on it! Plus, if you're lucky enough, you might be able to find yourself one of the limited edition flocked/velvet/fuzzy posters that Drive Thru Records made to promote the record! July 25, 2006 Phew! FINALLY! A new splash page. And that's not all! I've got 5 new prints available in the store. AND THAT'S NOT ALL! Sign up for my mailing list PRONTO, because I'm about to send out my inaugural list email containing some dealzzz only available to the mailing list folks. Oh, and I've jumped on the bandwagon and YouTubed the flipbook print. If you've been unable to view it before, now's your chance (though don't get your hopes THAT high)! July 20, 2006 Two months without any update = BUSY! I've recently wrapped up several great projects that I've been forced to keep a lid on (one of which I won't be able to squeal about until Autumn '07--sorry bub). However, I CAN mention the upcoming Beautiful/Decay curated art show at the Scion Gallery in L.A. which opens August 19. The 4-person show includes Aya Kato, Friends With You, Skwak, and myself. A flattering gang to be included with! It'll be fun. Then, once I return from my trip to L.A. and finish unpacking my bags, I'll have to repack them just a week or so later to head to Seattle to man the Patent Pending booth at Flatstock. May 19, 2006 If you didn't notice, down there in the bottom right corner is the spot you can sign up for my new mailing list ( for updates on anything notable: new junk in the store, upcoming art shows, and any other worthwhile bits of information). The best part is, thanks to Jon from Tiny Showcase, a supercomputer deals with adding and removing names. You needn't worry about offending me if you decide to remove yourself, as I won't even know! DO IT! NOW! ALSO...I'm a little late to the boat on mentioning this (since it's been out for a month now!), but the next time you're at your local Target, get your loved one a Wacky Tongue gift card. They'll not only be able to buy some deodorant (FINALLY!), but also save their back when they drop a potato chip on the floor! April 11, 2006 I gave a lecture at UMass Dartmouth yesterday to a near-full house. And I only stuttered, mumbled, and fainted a couple times! Thanks to everybody who showed up, and an extra special thanks to Lis and the university for inviting me to speak. April 4, 2006 The DOOM BRINGERERS show opens this Friday at the Firecracker Studios in Madison. As part of SGC, the international printmakers' conference, it will feature a BUNCH of my new prints and posters, though more importantly, awesome work from The Little Friends of Printmaking and Tyler Stout! It's going to be really great. Trust me. March 24, 2006 Everybody's favorite online gallery, Tiny Showcase is now taking orders for the new T-shirt I just did for them. If you pre-order before April 1st, it'll come with a limited edition signed print. Order it here! Feb 23, 2006 They say good things come in 3's. The first is that the site has finally been updated, featuring new work, and semi-new work. The second thing is I've been interviewed by the Waiting for Wednesday blog. And the third is the 'Submit to Print' show opens this Friday at the Andenken Gallery in Denver. In addition to the 3 prints I have in the show, there's also work by Jeff Soto, Tim Biskup, Evan Hecox, Brendan Monroe, Cody Hudson, No Pattern, Evah Fan, Lauren Weinstein, David Heatley, and MORE!. OH! And a bonus thing is the cover and interior illustration I did for HOW design magazine is out this month (it's the March/April issue)! Feb 2, 2006 New shirt available in the store now. Limited to only 16 EVER (that means only 3 or 4 per size!), so get one before they're gone! Jan 27, 2006 Hottt stuff! I have a profile in the new CMYK magazine out now. And if that's not terrific enough, there's also an interview up on Fecal Face done by the one and only Lisa Romero ! Also, if you live in or around Seattle, be sure to check out the Sweetest Taboo group show at Roq la Rue for the month of February! In addition to my painting in the Sweetest Taboo show, I'll also be part of Kong's grand opening show in Mexico City. And lastly, I apologize I haven't updated the galleries in MONTHS. I will soon. Promise! Jan 9, 2006 I have a feeling 2006 is going to go down in the history books as Year of the Awesome. Unless everything falls through, I've got some big plans in the works! And to start the year off, I did the cover plus an interview with New Reform Magazine. It's distributed throughout L.A., San Diego, Mexico, Reno, Seattle, Detroit, and Chicago. Try to pick up a copy if you're anywhere near any of those cities! Dec 11, 2005 Although it's been a long time coming, my flipbook print is finally available. The 80 unique prints, when compiled together, make up a short cartoon. See the cartoon here! And a special thanks to Alex Carr for making it web-friendly! Nov 28, 2005 Go out and buy the new issue of Beautiful / Decay magazine . Better yet, subscribe. There's a 6 page interview with me in the new issue. In addition, I did the cover art for it too (complete with gloss lightning bolts). Nov 18, 2005 Here's a recent interview with me for the Phony Nowhere blog. Nov 16, 2005 The L.A. Kidrobot store is having a print show and my "Plan" print will be included in it. That's all the info I have for now. If and when I hear more, I'll post it. Nov 4, 2005 Kidrobot's Munny show was last night and was PACKED (and fun)! They're now auctioning all the Munnies off, with profits being donated to Feed The Children to benefit children affected by Hurricane Katrina. Oct 16, 2005 I put a new print up in the store. It's limited to only 15 copies, so they may go pretty quick. But with my luck, they'll still be there next summer. Regardless, they'll be sent out in the order they were placed (the first person to order gets 1/15, the second gets 2/15, etc...). Oct 13, 2005 I've just wrapped up painting my Munny toy for Kidrobot's Munny show. If you live anywhere near New York City, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, I highly suggest you go. The show is a charity auction for the children affected by Hurricane Katrina. Sept 14 , 2005 I'm back from Seattle now, though while I was there, my attention was turned to the sad sad story of New Orleans. I highly suggest you do anything you can to help get that city back on its feet. The least of which is to buy yourself a new bumper sticker or T-Shirt that my dear friend (and New Orleans resident) Dan Haugh has created. All proceeds go to help the people and critters of New Orleans. Aug 26 , 2005 I'm shutting the office down from Aug. 29 to Sept 7 while I'm in Seattle visiting friends and manning the Patent Pending booth at Flatstock 7. Won't you please come by and say hello? Also, I'll have limited quantities of both the Dude Buggy shirt and the Bird and the Bees shirt with me, so you can make sure the thing fits before throwing down your hard-earned cash. Aug 11 , 2005 Though I didn't get the chance to mention it when it became available two weeks ago, there's a new shirt available in the store, and if you're the same exact size as I am (totally buff) it'll fit you like a glove. And if you're not, one of the other sizes totally will! Oh, and I added a list of some of the folks I've worked with. July 26, 2005 Though things have been rather busy (cover of this week's Portland Mercury, new shirt available NOW, and other projects, projects, projects, not to mention the Dude Buggy shirt order from a certain alt-country rocker), I've finally gotten around to adding recent work to my portfolio. July 13, 2005 The new store is now up and running! Though there's only one shirt available now, there will be more additions in the coming weeks and/or months. A very special thanks to Jon from Tiny Showcase for helping me set it up. He is brilliant. June 14, 2005 My Tiny Showcase print is now completely sold out. It actually sold out a couple weeks ago, but if you couldn't tell, I'm a bit slow on the updates. Sorry if you wanted it and missed it. May 11, 2005 Tiny Showcase now has a print of mine for sale on their site. It's a limited run of 50 and they're only $12. Plus, it's printed on really nice paper. If that's not enough, then do I have to mention that the Tiny showcase folks live a mere 8 blocks away and are incredibly nice? In addition to the Tiny print, I'm in the process of wrapping up the artwork for another print and a couple shirts that'll be available here just as soon as they're finished. April 20, 2005 I have a few items in the new book "Maximum Page Design", published by HOW Design books, available now. April 19, 2005 New posters and CD projects have been added to their respective galleries. Finally. March 31, 2005 Upon learning that The Invisible Empire was another name for a very horrible group of people (Really! No joke! Just ask Google), I've been scrambling to distance the name from my own. It's very unfortunate that such an evil and feebleminded group could have chosen such a good name. I'm sorry. March 1, 2005 Apparently I've been too busy losing Grammy awards (to an EGG, nonetheless!), to bother updating my site. I'll be better in the near future. Promise! However, I have been busy working on CD packages for Minmae and The Pale Pacific, as well as doing the art for this year's Sasquatch festival and a few other odds and ends. Dec 7, 2004 The CD package I did for The Shins "Chutes too Narrow" album has just been nominated for a Grammy for "Best Album Packaging." Hot dog! Also, without the help of Greg at Asterik Studio, any of you looking at this site on a PC would have been pretty bummed out. Dec 5, 2004 I have sucessfully relocated to Providence, RI, after 3200 miles of driving and a extremely pleasant pit-stop in Chicago to visit some dear friends. Nov 5, 2004 My dear friend Dan Haugh helped tweak my main-frame, so the site now most likely looks good on a computer other than my own! Additionally, I helped with a desktop wallpaper illustration for his band, Smoke and Smoke. Get it while you can! Nov 1, 2004 Well, it looks as if everything is uploaded and running smoothly. However, if you find problems or concerns, won't you let me know? |
